Drove Around Today

I was finally able to take some photos thanks to the dry weather.  I'm not sure if I can use any for photo class or if my teacher will accept the late assignment.

I also bought some items at the two Japanese shops in El Cerrito.  The sake (salmon) onigiri was gooood.  I picked up a nice prop that I'll ask others to wear for photos.

I'm tired and need a shower.

Drove over the San Rafael Bridge for the first time in a long time.

And This

Watched The Art of the Steal the other day.  Just when you thought you couldn't get more jaded, there's always more fuel to throw into that fire of cynicism burning in your gut.  Why are so many things fucked up?  (How eloquent.)

Next you'll tell me there's something sinister behind the comic book industry. Don't even think about it, please. Comics are one of the few security blankets I still hold dear even when I walk into a comic shop and very little interests me. That is happening too often these days to be honest.  And then other stuff happens…like below.

Have Been Up for Almost Two Hours

What have I accomplished?  Paid a fine online.  Ate some leftover macaroni and cheese I made yesterday (not bad!) and an almond butter and jelly sandwich I made this morning.  Carbs...delicious… Had a cup of earl grey tea.  Surfed the internet while listening to Pandora.

It's icy outside, but it finally stopped raining.  I need to shoot some photos for class and just get out of the freaking house.

I need to start planning a quick trip to L.A. to help DR move and to visit my cousin.  I need to do a lot of things.  Maybe I need to buy that giant whiteboard at Costco.

Some Close Friends Board

I don't, so this is what I imagine they do on their Tahoe and Whistler trips.

Holy Vallejo, CA.  (Usually, when someone says that outloud, there are gunshot sound effects)  Look at those crazy-ass jumps.

ASAP, Por Favor

I need to get to these cities (some for a revisit):
  • NYC
  • Brooklyn
  • Yonkers
  • Tokyo
  • Kyoto
  • Fukuoka
  • Osaka
  • Manila
  • Barcelona
  • Madrid
  • Sydney
  • Miami
  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Austin
  • Cork
  • Dublin
I'll stop there for now.

Wondered what Frank Quitely was up to

…and ended up finding the video below.  First time I've taken the time to research anything on him even though I've liked his stuff since Batman: The Scottish Connection.  I don't remember if I ever read/bought Flex Mentallo. I'll have to check some boxes, but I may have a couple of issues.

Turns out that a good thing to do on a Saturday night when you're recovering from illness is to geek out…on a blog… I need help.

Would Like To Visit SF Today

But all that below is in the way.  I hate sitting in traffic.  I also wish my car was clean.

And since things are starting to move, not quite at full speed yet, here is what the website looks like with links. Yes. That's it, but it's a start.

The photoblog was created for this digital photo class I'm taking. I already missed one deadline and one class meeting, but I'll get back on track. With some "Daytime" CVS-brand theraflu drink substance, I should be able to head out and take some photos today, get some drawing done, and more good stuff before Winter returns.

I would have punched you in the stomach

That's how I would have reacted if you had told me that I would like something involving Tila Tequila and Jennifer Aniston.  I would've backhanded you on your right cheek, too.  I'm short and lightning quick, and you wouldn't have stopped me.

But here we go.  It's funny, damn it.  Well done, Galifianakis.  Well done, again.

Suddenly Curious

Looking up Yonkers, New York here and there online.  I wonder what our neighborhood looked like in the late 70s, and I wonder what it looks like now.

According to Google Maps, there are two shopping centers close by.  Unfortunately, the address hasn't been invaded by the Google mobile, but I'm checking up and down the street by clicking the arrow in the interface.  I'm not being too nosey but rather just trying to get a sense of what the houses look like.

Almost 9,000 photos on Flickr after a general search.  I'm going to check out whatever photos my family has of the area when I get the chance.
